/r/pics August 2017 Transparency Report

Good evening everyone! As you may or may not know, /r/pics held a contest during the recent solar eclipse that crossed America in the month of August. The results of the contest are in, and you can read those here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/6xpm08/the_2017_eclipse_awards/Our new mods are all broken in and have been working hard. All have been promoted to full moderators. Congrats! We look for new mods usually 2-3 times a year, so keep an eye on these stickies or on /r/needamodHalloween approaches! Our creative team (/u/tragopanic and /u/lessons_learnt) are preparing a spook-tacular event and content for the month of October, so keep an eye out!StatsAugustDataDifferenceComment3 Month AverageYTDOtherTotal Submissions to Subreddit40,800Up 4800Well above average for /r/pics - Likely thanks to the Great American Solar Eclipse36,884274,368Total Moderation Actions53,201Up 18,000New Mod Syndrome! Most of this stuff is boring, like wiki edits, notes, and distinguishing comments. Approving one post is 2 actions, removing a post is 2 or 3 actions.Thank you!edit: fixed table, spreadsheet errors
